Securitex IQL Industrial Explosion-proof Lighting system
History, invention and manufacturing of the IQL light.
The IQL light is developed by IMT B.V. a family owned company which was founded in Apeldoorn in 1984 by Jan Geluk, providing explosion proof lighting and materials for industry and specializing in lighting for spray paint cabins. In 1993, the company developed its first IQL lighting system, followed by the 100,000 hour/ten year system in 1995. The company moved to Herwijnen in 1988, and currently is located in Spijk near Gorinchem. IMT now has a production site in Spijk and has subsidiaries in Germany, United Kingdom, Singapore and Belgium. Next to these subsidiaries IMT also has several distributors/agents scattered around the world. With 25 employees. Sales are conducted directly to end-users, contractors and installers around world wide.
IQL lines of lights and its 10 years guarantee on operation and Seal-for-life system.
The centerpiece of the IMT product pallet is its IQL line of lighting systems. Designed and patented by the company's own engineering and development department, the line includes 55W and 85W versions with a 100.000 hours maintenance free period, 10 years guarantee on operation and a 165W version with a 60,000 hours maintenance free period with six years guarantee. The IQL line is ATEX certified for, among others, high bay lighting, lighting for helicopter landing pads (IQL85/55), and for street and area lighting fixtures. All IQL products are designed for extreme environments, and are maintenance free ("sealed-for-life").
ISO and ATEX certification
To ensure quality of the IQL lights meets the international standard IMT bv has attained the ISO 9001:2000 in year 2000 and today is is an ISO certified company. They have also attained ATEX certification for most of the products. (View ISO certificate and ATEX certification)
